How We Treat Earwig Infestations 

We use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) specifically designed for earwigs, focusing on the behaviors and habitats unique to this pest. Earwigs thrive in moist environments, often hiding under your mulch, garden debris, and around your irrigation systems. 

In Finney County, for example, widespread gardens create ideal conditions for earwig populations during summer rainfall. At the same time, Edwards County’s combination of rural and residential properties often brings earwigs indoors through cracks and foundation openings.

Our IPM strategy begins with a thorough inspection to identify the areas prone to moisture, entry points, and the preferred hiding spots. 

For outdoor areas, we modify habitats by reducing excess mulch, trimming dense foliage near foundations, and adjusting irrigation practices to minimize moisture accumulation. 

Indoors, we target potential entryways, sealing gaps around windows, doors, and utility penetrations while applying low-impact treatments in strategic locations to discourage earwigs from establishing themselves on the  inside.
